The city of Castellón
Castellón is a vibrant, welcoming city with a population of around 180,000, nestled between the Desert de les Palmes Natural Park and the Mediterranean Sea. The city’s coastal stretch is framed by expansive orange groves and 120 kilometers of beautiful beaches, lapped by the warm Mediterranean waters. As you move inland, the landscape transforms rapidly, with Castellón being the second most mountainous province in Spain, offering a rich blend of cultural, historical, and natural heritage.
The city enjoys a pleasant Mediterranean climate, characterised by mild winters and hot summers. Average temperatures reach 27°C in summer and 18°C in winter, with more than 300 days of sunshine annually, making Castellón a perfect destination for outdoor activities throughout the year.
In recent years, Castelló has undergone significant growth while maintaining its cultural traditions. The city’s development is reflected in landmarks such as the Universitat Jaume I (UJI), the Auditorium and Conference Centre, and the Museum of Fine Arts, among others.
These developments showcase the city’s commitment to progress and innovation, while also preserving its deep-rooted cultural identity.
